The Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy (WLSA) provides high-quality training services, focusing on delivering comprehensive training on Wärtsilä products and solutions to both internal and external customers in the Marine and Power Plant industries worldwide.We are now looking for a technically oriented team player to join our skilled Training Development team as a Designer, Training Development. We encourage applicants of various seniority levels, as the role can be offered as Junior Designer or Designer.The role is offered as a permanent contract, with Turku being the preferred location. However, other Wärtsilä locations in Finland can also be considered. Our team embraces a hybrid working model, and in this highly flexible role, you will have the opportunity to work remotely for approximately 80% of your working time.What will you be doing?As part of the Training Development team in WLSA, you will be supporting training centres and other stakeholders globally. Your main responsibility will be creating eLearning courses and training animations for Wärtsilä products and solutions.The ideal candidate for this role has a strong visual expertise, with a passion for creating effective training materials and engaging learning experiences.Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing new eLearnings and training animations.
  • Collaborating with training centres and subject matter experts globally to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
  • Leading, managing, and participating in training development projects.
  • Providing high-quality visual expertise for internal and external customers.
The below will enable you to succeed in this role:
  • BSc, MSc, or similar educational background (e.g. graphic design).
  • Experience with technical documentation and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Wärtsilä products is advantageous.
  • Pedagogical skills and/or experience with training-related tasks is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude.
  • Self-directed approach to work with willingness to take initiative.
  • Collaborative team player mindset.
  • Structured and organised way of working.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
