Are you looking to take your first step into the world of digital communications? Are you interested in website development content management and want to gain experience in topics like SEO, agile development and exploring the possibilities of genAI and LLM’s?We are looking for a junior digital communications coordinator to play an active part in the development of, and continuous improvement of Aalto.fi. In addition to being our external website, aalto.fi is both our student and staff intranet and serves around 2 million users annually. It’s more than just a website though and is stock full of powerful tools and features that integrate into several underlying systems including our very own Aalto AI assistant.This is a fixed term contract from May 2024 to March 2025.Your role and goalsIn this role you will be working in many different areas including technical support for our content editors and producers, concrete actions that will help improve the findability of content on our site as well as new feature testing and validation. You will also play a part in building our editor community by helping arrange editor meetups, and training sessions.It may sound like a lot, but you will have plenty of support from the experienced experts in our team helping you get acquainted with our tools and processes making this a great opportunity to learn and get hands-on experience.Your network and teamYou will be part of the Digital Experience and analytics team within the wider Communications team at Aalto. The Digital Experience team runs digital development and design processes for a variety of digital touchpoints relying heavily on data and user feedback to guide our decisions and actions.Though we all have our responsibility areas, we work very actively together to ideate solutions and leverage all the unique skills and abilities we all have. We are driven and make the best use of agile ways of working to maximize efficiency. In addition to the current team members, we are also recruiting a Junior DX designer that you will be working closely with.Your experience and ambitions

What you lack in experience, you make up for by learning new tools and systems quickly and by pro-actively finding ways to help others be successful. You are the one that your friends and family reach out to when their technical gadgets or software isn’t working because they know you will do everything you can to get them up and running again.
Previous experience in editing or even managing content on a website is beneficial, especially if you have worked with Drupal before.
You are driven, pro-active and take pride in helping others and getting things done.
You communicate proficiently in both English and Finnish. Swedish language proficiency would also be beneficial.
