We are experts in embedded operating systems, drivers, low-level software and hardware for our positioning products.We are organized in three cross-functional Scrum teams full of motivated and talented engineers. We wish to add your technical expertise to one of these teams and are looking for your experience as Senior Embedded Software Engineer.The embedded system is a key building block of our positioning platforms, and we are delivering this to internal stakeholders as base for signal processing, positioning algorithm and product development. In this role you will work closely with both our hardware team who provide to us the new custom ASIC/FPGAs and boards, and our internal stakeholders like system integration, signal processing and navigation teams and make sure we deliver the most value to them.The role can be located in Tampere, Finland or in Athens, Greece. There will be very occasional travel within Europe.Your Responsibilities
- Develop and test high quality firmware drivers and code for our ASICs
- Support and coach junior members of the team
- Work together effectively in a distributed team in an agile environment using Jira and Gitlab to deliver highest value features
- Enjoy to debug and fix complex low level software issues or provide workarounds
- Be motivated to improve our code, our testing, our CI/CD automation, our ways of working
- Document features for our stakeholders
- Degree in electrical engineering or computer science
- 6+ years' experience in:
- Embedded software development in C
- ARM cores (preferably of the Cortex-M family)
- Bare metal programming and debugging
- Automated testing and scripting using pytest or similar in a CI environment like Jenkins/Gitlab
- In depth knowledge of at least two of the following: UART, I2C, SPI, USB, Flash
- Good communications skills, desire for sharing experience and knowledge
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Willingness and ability to travel on an occasional basis within Europe
- Experience of working in an agile development environment
- Signal processing concepts and GNSS receivers
- Unit test frameworks (e.g. Cppunit) and mocking/fuzzing for embedded systems
- Firmware security concepts
- Real time operating systems
- Use of any of: Lauterbach, Raspberry PI, QEMU, pytest
