Job Description:Your roleOrion is looking for an Automation Engineer to develop and manage Lifecycle Management for several OT production and factory systems.Orion's Automation department is responsible for maintaining several production-critical process control and factory systems whose availability, compliance, and continuity must be always ensured. With increasing requirements for availability and cybersecurity, these systems must be updated on a faster cycle than before. We are now looking for an Automation Engineer to create, develop, and coordinate system lifecycle management and governance models. The role involves familiarizing yourself with the systems together with the designated system owners and admins, maintaining dialogue with system vendors, identifying upcoming change and upgrade needs, planning and documenting them, budgeting and scheduling, and leading projects in a practical, hands-on manner.To succeed in this role, you may be at the beginning of your career or an experienced professional-what matters most is an independent, proactive, and project-oriented way of working and a willingness to coordinate activities. A suitable background is typically a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Automation Engineering, enabling you to speak the same language as the system admins and understand the boundaries and requirements of automation and OT systems. Experience in a regulated industry is an advantage, but your background may also be built in other ways. This position is full-time and permanent and can be located to Orion's Espoo, Turku or Salo sites. Hybrid working model is possible in accordance with current company practices, which is currently 3 on-site and max. 2 remote days per week.Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead Automation Lifecycle projects with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify, create, and update lifecycle management models for process control and factory systems
  • Develop system change routines and documentation together with stakeholders
  • Maintain dialogue with system vendors regarding lifecycle management and resourcing

  • Relevant education in the field of automation (B.Sc or M.Sc in Engineering) and work experience
  • Understanding of the overall operation of OT (operational technology) systems
  • Independent and project-oriented way of working, with the ability to coordinate and enable others' work
  • Good documentation skills and the ability to develop documentation processes
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Finnish and English, as we work in both languages
  • Positive attitude towards teamwork and open communication
Additionally, the following qualifications are considered an advantage:
  • Knowledge of automation systems (e.g., Siemens S7/PCS7, Schneider, Systech, machine vision systems)
  • Experience working in an industrial environment
  • Experience and understanding of working in a regulated environment, especially GMP
  • Electrically skilled person

In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.The Automation Team at Orion Pharma is responsible for process, machine automation, and factory systems at all Orion Pharma factory locations. Within the Automation Department, we operate in small teams, each with its own areas of responsibility. In total we have more than thirty technicians and engineers to do our core job, keep production up and running.
