In this role you will be charged with leading all aspects of corporate and finance-related legal matters including strategic transactions, equity management, and corporate governance. In addition to the qualifications below, you should be naturally inquisitive, enjoy learning, and have the ability to work cross-functionally with all of our teams. This role will report to Oura’s General Counsel located in the US.Location: Finland (Helsinki, Oulu or remotely in Finland)What You will do:

Support the legal team on corporate governance matters, including developing, maintaining and localizing (as needed) company policies and procedures and implementing processes to enable continued scale
Support the HR team by providing legal advice and counsel on a broad range of employment issues in Finland and other countries where we use an EoR partner
Work closely with the finance team to provide lead legal support for strategic transactions and a variety of other matters
Provide contractual support for various functions with a focus on commercial partnerships
Own and manage Oura’s relationship with outside Finnish counsel, ensuring relationships are maximized and utilized effectively
Assist with the management of the shareholder ledger including changes to investor ownership and records
Assist with legal entity establishment and subsidiary structuring, governance and management for Oura, working closely with the finance and HR teams on intercompany commercial transactions, tax planning, and related corporate policies and employment matters
Collaborate cross functionally across the entire company to assess and analyze legal risks and devise creative, effective solutions
Serve as a facilitator ensuring global and local compliance on all aspects of the company with different function leaders

We would love to have You on our team, if You have:

Master of Laws or an equivalent qualification in Finnish law from a reputable university
6+ years of post qualification experience at either a large law firm or in-house legal department
Corporate and securities law experience
Employment law experience
Experience leading and managing complex transactions, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, conducting due diligence, preparing ancillary transaction documents, and managing mid-sized and large transactions
Experience designing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and processes
An ability to work independently while taking initiative and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and experience working directly with stakeholders inside and outside the legal function by building relationships of confidence and trust
Well developed strategic negotiation skills, analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and have a solutions-oriented approach
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences
An outstanding work and academic record
Exceptional interpersonal skills, commitment to professionalism and collegiality, flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters, and demonstrated ability to complete several simultaneous projects on a deadline
Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and oral, is required
Readiness to work over time zones

Bonus points for:

In-house experience at a technology company preferred
Experience working for or with a multi-national company operating in multiple countries and legal jurisdictions
Good understanding of the general similarities and differences between the Finnish and US laws
Practical experience in the healthcare or wearable device industries
