Learn more about Kemira atWe are now looking for a Manager, Applications, Fiber Essentials to join our Fiber Essentials business unit.Fiber Essentials business unit develops and commercializes new product concepts to meet the needs of its customers, thus ensuring a leading portfolio of products and services for bleached pulp. Fiber Essentials serves pulp producers in North America and EMEA while establishing a strong position in the emerging South American and Asian markets.This position can be based in any Kemira location in Finland (Helsinki, Espoo, Äetsä, Harjavalta, Joutseno, Kuusankoski, Oulu, Pori, Tampere and Vaasa). Helsingborg site in Sweden can be also considered, provided the role requires flexibility to travel regularly to customer sites in Finland and Sweden, and occasionally elsewhere in the EMEA region.In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Acting as a technical expert, engaging directly with customers at their sites to discuss technical solutions, supporting application management, and resolving any issues related to the use of our chemistry, ensuring our products, applications, and solutions deliver value.
  • Driving technical marketing of Fiber Essentials products and services aligned with business strategy, and collaborating closely with sales, product-line management, and product development teams.
  • Creating customer value by leveraging expertise in pulping and bleaching, assessing product performance, and developing technical marketing materials while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Providing technical support for product and business development, identifying new market opportunities, and enhancing customer satisfaction through hands-on application management and technical sales.
  • Leading customer production audits and troubleshooting efforts to resolve challenges and enhance supplier value, including regular visits to customer sites in Finland and Sweden, and occasionally elsewhere in the EMEA region.
  • Gathering and analysing business-relevant data from customer processes and competitor performance to generate insights for pricing strategies and product positioning.
  • Monitoring technological advancements in global pulp manufacturing and contributing to business development and innovation.
What you'll bring to the team:
  • Extensive experience in application management, technical sales, and technical support within pulp mills, with deep understanding of pulp manufacturing processes (especially bleaching) and the ability to operate as a technical expert in customer environments.
  • Academic degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in a relevant field of technology, preferably in chemical or process engineering or chemistry, with a minimum of 5 years of work experience.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with customers to drive value through process improvements and effective service support.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate customer performance and the effectiveness of Fiber Essentials applications.
  • Clear understanding of product and service performance metrics, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently while focusing on value creation for customers and internal teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Finnish, both written and spoken. Swedish language skills would be considered an advantage.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly to customer sites in Finland and Sweden, and occasionally elsewhere in the EMEA region.
