- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Law, Policy, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
- Experience working on policy or regulation in Europe related to electricity markets or electricity networks.
- Ability to communicate in Finnish and English fluently in order to communicate with local stakeholders in Finland and other markets.
- Experience with power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, data center technology, industrial-class electrical and cooling technology, or other related technical areas.
- Experience in European energy markets, specifically regarding grid tariffs, market design, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working within an energy regulator or the regulatory unit of an energy supplier, Transmission System Operator (TSO), Distribution System Operator (DSO), or large electricity user.
- Knowledge of Finland's energy market design, structure, and stakeholder ecosystem.
- Ability to grasp technical product aspects and develop data-driven recommendations and action plans.
- Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy and corporate development.
- Lead evaluations of regulatory and policy environments in Europe at both EU and national (with a focus on the Nordic region) levels, regarding electricity industry trends, stakeholder interests, and electricity institutional structures. Assess risks and opportunities for Google’s data center electricity supply portfolio.
- Lead the development of energy positions for Google’s electricity supply needs in established and new markets, design of regulatory and market engagement strategies, and implementation of tactics.
- Lead advocacy work through energy trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other partners to advance Google’s energy priorities. Draft internal energy positions and respond to external public consultation on energy.
- Support energy supply agreements, working with site and energy negotiators.
- Work cross-functionally on Google’s global infrastructure and public policy to develop policy and market positions and communicate to key constituencies.
